Our gurus and bhagats were extraordinary beings who continue
to guide us through centuries.
But their lives and the lives of their families
and associates were undoubtedly embedded in a human, creaturely, secular
context.
Our guides are extraordinarily precious because they are also to a large part human, like us.
Their humanity is our greatest hope because it forms a bridge from us to them, from our conditioned, animal, creaturely self to that which is divine with us.
